2 Timothy 2:23-24 says,

“23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,”

We must not get into arguments when preaching the gospel. The purpose of this lesson is simply to understand the basics of these three belief systems so that we are not shocked or shaken if ever we encounter anyone with any of these sets of beliefs.

The New Age Movement

These are Westernized forms of Eastern religions that involve a combination of occultic practices, self-help, holistic medicines and astrology. Activities include tarot cards, metaphysical healing, reading of palms and connecting to the spirit world. They believe in taking control of your own life and that increased personal awareness and development of one’s own divinity is the springboard to global transformation. These beliefs are flexible and they in fact reject rigid morals and organized religion and prefer to choose their own spiritual truth. Some examples of New Age Religions are Hare Krishna, Scientology, Theosophy, Rosicrucians, Inner Peace Movement, Spiritualism and Children of God.

Reincarnation

This is also known as rebirth or transmigration. It is the concept that the human spirit or soul begins a new life in a different physical form or body after biological death.

Relativism

A relativist holds that nobody is right or wrong about what is moral (good or bad), therefore, everyone ought to tolerate the behaviour of others regardless of the gravity of evil they have committed.

People will believe anything so far it’s not God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So whenever anyone presents their contrary beliefs to you, simply bring them back to your gospel message. There is power in the gospel, not in discussing beliefs and arguing about which religion is the best. Remember that when someone brings up an objection, it is just Satan trying to prevent you from proclaiming the Gospel of Salvation. Always stir them back to the Gospel.

If you preach the gospel often, you will definitely come across those who do not believe in the existence of God. So your first challenge is now to prove to them that God exists before you start talking about Jesus and his sacrifice.

It is very easy.

The fact that a building exists shows that there was a builder. A building cannot exist without a builder. The fact that a cake exists proves that there was a baker. The very existence of a car is proof enough that someone made it.

Scientifically, everything is created by something. It is scientifically impossible for something to exist without being made.

So the very existence of the earth proves that it was made or created.

That trees, birds, animals, me and you exist simply shows that someone made us all.

God is the one behind it all.

How Satan Hinders The Gospel | Lesson 13 | School Of Evangelism

I once watched a video where a man was trying to preach the gospel to an unbeliever. They sat at the street corner and were about going into serious discussions regarding the faith. God had granted this preacher a rare audience as the unbeliever was willing to listen and absorb all he said. Suddenly another man appeared from nowhere and began to make funny faces at them. Then he started hurling cuss words. He distracted them for as long as he could until the preacher summoned enough courage to drive him away. But for God’s grace, the unbeliever could have gotten irritated and impatient because of this waste of time by this man that was being influenced by Satan.

Influencing people to physically block out the gospel message is not one of Satan’s new tricks. He has been doing this ever since. We see this happen to Paul in 1 Thessalonians 2:18 and Acts 23:12-22. It happened to Jesus, Stephen, John and pretty much all the disciples. It still happens today.

There is another way in which Satan can hinder the gospel. It is by blinding the mind of the unbeliever so that they will not receive the Light. This one is his spiritual strategy to hinder men from receiving Christ.

The Berean Study Bible version of 2 Corinthians 4:4 puts it this way:
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

How Satan does this, I do not know. But one thing I know is that God can penetrate any barricade of the devil.

We have the Holy Ghost and the host of angels on our side.

If we activate our resources in the place of prayer, we will see God mightily at work in us softening hard hearts for Christ.

Remember that the script has already been written and at the end, Christ won, you won!

101 Ways To Share Your Faith | Lesson 11 | School Of Evangelism

There are numerous ways to share your Faith. Below are some of my ideas. Each group of 10 is focused on a different category of people. Have fun figuring out which category is being targeted. The most important thing to take away from this lesson is that you do not have to do everything and certainly not at once. Just pick one idea at a time, execute it and allow the Holy Spirit do the rest. God bless you.

  1. Organize a dinner at home with special food and treats. Preach the gospel to them at the table
  2. Organize a special family prayer meeting and share the gospel there
  3. Print and paste gospel bible verses at strategic places in your house
  4. Call distant family members to greet them and use the opportunity to share the gospel
  5. Create fun games and activities to play with your children and use the chance to chip in the gospel
  6. Organize a movie night at home with pop corn and drinks. Select an interesting gospel movie for you all to watch
  7. Give your family members a tract along with gifts on Mothers day, Fathers day, Siblings day, etc
  8. Go out of your way to do something that is sure to wow them. When they ask why, chip in the gospel
  9. Change your negative attitude at home. When they ask why, chip in the gospel
  10. Just share the gospel plainly and seriously
  11. Organize a social night for your neighbours and use the opportunity to preach to them
  12. Go with gifts from door to door and preach to them
  13. Invite them for dinner or afternoon tea and chip in the gospel
  14. Invite them to watch a gospel movie together
  15. Celebrate your birthday at home and invite the neighbours
  16. Preach at your neighbourhood meeting
  17. Organize a neighbourhood prayer meeting and use the opportunity to preach the gospel
  18. Stand in front of your gate and share tracts to whoever passes by
  19. Organize a community crusade
  20. Erect gospel sign posts at strategic locations in your community
  21. Take your friends out to brunch and use the the chance to preach to them
  22. Call a friend and simply pray and minister to them
  23. Send a friend a text about the gospel
  24. Take your friend out to watch a gospel movie together
  25. Give your friend a gospel tract
  26. Send your friend a gospel video
  27. Invite your friend to an evangelistic church meeting
  28. Go out of your way to do something extremely special for your friend and use the chance to minister to them

  30. Invite your friend to afternoon tea and use the opportunity to minister to them
  31. Take your colleague out to lunch and use the chance to minister to them
  32. Voice out against evil practices in your office
  33. Send a gospel email to your colleagues
  34. Use gospel branded items like pen, mug, notepad so that your colleagues encounter the gospel when they see them
  35. Be vocal about your Christian virtues and ideologies in handling work issues
  36. Come up with a Holy Spirit inspired solution to an issue at work and proudly state your source
  37. Use your influence over junior colleagues to draw them closer to God
  38. Start an office fellowship
  39. Create a tract in form of a business card and share it
  40. Give your colleague a gift and use the opportunity to preach to them
  41. Preach to people at a bustop
  42. Just stand by the road side, stop people and preach to them
  43. Hand out tracts to people on the streets
  44. With Christian friends, fake a road accident. When people gather, preach to them
  45. Put up gospel signposts on strategic places on the street
  46. Hold a crusade for people on the streets
  47. Organize a welfare event during festive seasons like Easter and Christmas, use the platform to preach
  48. Go to a parking lot and put tracts in car windshields or car door handles
  49. Rent or buy a helicopter and spray tracts down from above
  50. Use a megaphone to announce the gospel on the streets i.e. Morning Cry, Evening Cry
  51. Send a prewritten gospel message to peoples DM’s
  52. Chat people up to get to know them better and in the process, preach to them
  53. Create e-tracts and send to peoples DM’s
  54. Post e-tracts on your social media page
  55. Pay to promote such posts as above
  56. Do a short video on the gospel message and share
  57. Host a Live session periodically for evangelism
  58. Partner with people in your niche to host programs in which you will chip in the gospel
  59. Put a gospel message in your bio/where everyone can see
  60. “Like” a persons post and drop a comment with the gospel
  61. Go through your WhatsApp or Telegram contacts and preach the gospel to whoever might not be born again
  62. Post e-tracts on your status
  63. Create a group and Invite your friends telling them you have a special announcement (the Gospel)
  64. Use an e-tract as your profile picture
  65. Since WhatsApp call is free, call up a contact and have a discussion with them about the eternal destination
  66. Post a clip of a gospel message on your WhatsApp status
  67. Type the gospel message on your WhatsApp status
  68. Send e-tracts to your WhatsApp contacts
  69. Send direct messages to people you don’t know personally but who are in the same WhatsApp Group with you
  70. Just daringly share the gospel in all the WhatsApp groups you belong to
  71. Go to secondary schools and speak to them under the cover of donating supplies
  72. Start training secondary school students in your niche/skill and use the chance to disciple them
  73. Host a secondary school lunch party and use the chance to preach
  74. If you have a child celebrating their birthday in secondary school, hand out gift packs containing the gospel written on a note
  75. Start a secondary school fellowship
  76. Start a school lunch program for village or community schools and use the chance to preach to them
  77. Start a sports club for secondary school students and use the chance to disciple them
  78. Request to reach out to students on sensitive topics such as child abuse and use the chance to preach to them
  79. Give out writing materials that have the gospel printed on them to secondary school students
  80. Sponsor 1 or 2 children in school and use that platform to mentor them directly
  81. Start a university fellowship
  82. Go to hostels to preach from room to room
  83. Giveaway say, free pads and use that chance to minster to them
  84. Start a finance program for indigent students and use that platform to minster to them
  85. Share tracts on the campus
  86. Go to classrooms and preach to them just before a class
  87. Teach or organize a tutorial in an area where you are skilled and use that chance to preach the gospel
  88. Take out a few students to lunch and minster to them
  89. Invite students to church or a gospel program
  90. Take interest in the academics and general welfare of a particular student or two and directly mentor them
  91. Organize a free seminar in your area of influence and use that to bring in the gospel
  92. Write an e-book in your field of expertise and include the gospel message
  93. Share your story in a physical meeting and mention how Christ played a part in your success story
  94. Share your story on an online platform, say YouTube, and mention how Christ played a part in your success story
  95. Start a mentorship program for people aspiring to reach your heights and use that opportunity to bring them closer to Christ
  96. Gather younger people in your home and community and give them goodies and also the gospel
  97. Share money to people around you who might appreciate it and use that to preach to them
  98. Patronize a small business generously and use that chance to minster to them
  99. Send out cards to your customers during festive seasons and include the gospel message in them
  100. Give your children or relatives that are still in school cards or gifts or writing materials containing the gospel message and encourage them to share to their classmates

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT YOU

Life is not about you, it is about God and what pleases him.

The Bible clearly states according to 2 Peter 3:9, that God is not delaying his coming because of you who is already born again. He’s is not delaying it so that he can bestow upon you some marvellous spiritual power. He is not delaying it so that he can bless you and make you great in life. He is not delaying it just so that you can have long life and prosperity.

The one reason why Jesus has not come again is so that the lost will be saved. He does not want any of them to perish.

Yesterday you went to church and told God you love Him. Prove it by attending to what pleases Him the most. Preach the gospel.

I pray that God will put in you the passion for souls and the grace to truly love him as you claim, in Jesus name, Amen.

STOP PROMISING PROSPERITY

Faith to believe in Jesus Christ cannot come through receiving blessings and promises.

Healing alone cannot produce faith. The people that Jesus healed were part of those that shouted “Crucify him!”. They were okay with him being a powerful prophet like Moses and Elijah but the fact that he healed them didn’t mean he had the right to call himself the son of God.

If a sinner receives Christ because you promised them riches, you better be ready to supply them all the money you promised they will have.

The promise of miracles and prosperity cannot produce genuine faith to believe. This is why we have very many professing Christians in church but few of them really believe in Jesus Christ. Only few are genuinely born again.

Faith comes by hearing The Message about Christ. The text Romans 10:17 States this very clearly.

I pray you will always only share the message of  Christ, his death, his resurrection and what that means for each man, in Jesus name. Amen.

WHY THEY DID NOT GET SAVED

What discourages Christians most about evangelism is that they preach the gospel but do not win souls. So, lets really answer the question.

Why did he/she not get saved when you preached to them?

A. The recipient was just too evil

B. God does not really care for their salvation

C. You did not pray correctly

D. You did not pray enough

E. The recipient is just too foolish

The answer is C. You did not pray correctly.

Soul winning is spiritual warfare, and we can see this clearly from our text for the day. They did not believe because “…the god of this world hath blinded their minds…”. You are entering into a contest to win over a treasured item (the soul) from your opponent (Satan). You think Satan will not put up a fight? Are you joking? He will put up the biggest fight ever.

Stop praying, “God save him/her.” That prayer is one God already answered over 2,000 years ago. What you need to do is to bind the strongman/devil operating in the life of the sinner(s), in the name of Jesus Christ. Then when you have won in the place of prayer, go and share the gospel with them as quickly as possible.

Praying correctly like this will give you victory in the business of winning the lost. Do not say that you do not have passion to pray for the lost, where else will you get the passion except in the place of prayer?

Just start praying and passion will be birthed.

I pray God baptizes you with the spirit of prayer and intercession for the lost, in Jesus name, Amen.
