How To Preach Without Intimidation

On June 4th, we will be marching out in small groups to preach the gospel in our different communities. When you set out, go to any corner, street, place or person that the Holy Spirit is leading you. Don’t be afraid when someone says, “You can’t preach here.” According to the law, you have the right to preach the Gospel anywhere, to anyone, using any format you so desire.

Freedom of expression is one of the fundamental rights which are universally recognized and protected. The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) (1999 CFRN), particularly Section 39 thereof, has expressly provided for the protection of this right because of its importance and relevance to the enhancement of personal liberty and democracy.

In simple terms, these are your rights according to the constitution:

  1. You are entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference
  2. You are entitled to own, establish and operate any medium for the dissemination of information, ideas and opinions
  3. As an individual, you have the right to receive information and the right to express and disseminate your opinion within the law

You can preach anywhere without intimidation when you know your legal rights.

“My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge…” Hosea 4:6 DRB

1 Thing You Should Never Do In Evangelism | Never Do This

Many times, when I go for evangelism, before I even start preaching to someone, they will ask me what church I attend. I always wondered why they were so interested in knowing my church before they listen to me. Now I know why.

I have discovered that a lot of people who don’t even go to church, will accept or reject your message based on the church you attend.

You see, many unchurched people actually know your church and the drama that goes on there. These days, the details of the lives of pastors are displayed on social media and on every news channel. Sinners know your pastor and they have an opinion about him/her.

You do not want someone to reject the message of salvation or blatantly refuse to listen to you because of the church you attend.

Don’t preach church, preach Christ Crucified. 1 Corinthians 1:23. You do not want a sinner to think he is going to Heaven because he is a member of your church. Then when he gets to eternity, he will be told, “…I don’t know you.”

If you may, only give information about your church if the person asks you or after you have led the person to Christ.

Remember that Jesus is not coming back to take only your denomination to Heaven but to take everyone everywhere who names the name of the Lord and has departed from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19.

“More souls have been won for Christ by preachers who did what little they could, than by renowned evangelists.”

Let’s go out and make Jesus proud tomorrow. 💪
Every Christian a Missionary.

Look Up

William Pope, who died in 1797, was the leader of a company of infidels who ridiculed everything religious. One of their exercises was to kick the Bible around the floor or tear it up. Friends present in his death-chamber spoke of it as a scene of terror as he died crying:

“I have no contrition. I cannot repent. God will damn me. I know the day of grace is past…You see one who is damned forever…Oh, Eternity! Eternity! Nothing for me but hell. Come eternal torments…I hate everything God has made, only I have no hatred for the devil— I wish to be with him. I long to be in hell. Do you not see? Do you not see him?”

Brethren, do you not see souls crying out of terror for help and salvation? Do you not see men and women drowning in sin, guilt and shame? They stretch forth their hands hoping a messenger of light will grab it and pull them out of the dungeons of darkness.

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
John 4:35 NKJV

Look Up and see the harvest.

Soul Winning Brings Joy

“I can tell you that there is no greater joy than leading someone to faith in Jesus Christ. Even if they reject your message, it still feels great to obey Christ. Yet regardless of how we feel, we need to remember this is what He has commanded.” – D. James Kennedy

“Even if I were utterly selfish and had no care for anything but my own happiness, I would choose, if God allowed, to be a soul winner, for never did I know perfect, overflowing, unutterable happiness of the purest and most ennobling order till I first heard of one who had sought and found a Savior through my means.” – Charles Spurgeon

It’s not only heaven that has joy when a sinner repents, God generously extends that joy to your heart. Suddenly dark areas of your life begins to receive light and everything comes together and makes sense.

Do you want to experience true unadulterated joy? Try soul winning. There’s just something so fulfilling when you hear of someone who came closer to Jesus because of a material you shared or a preaching you did.

There is no believer who has true joy that is not a soul winner.

But I’m Not An Evangelist

Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus said these words to his followers:

“I have chosen you to be like a light to the Gentiles. You must go to people everywhere in the world. You must tell them how God wants to save them.”
Acts 13:47 EASY

Jesus did not single out a few of the disciples to say, “You are the evangelists in the church, only you should preach the gospel, the rest should just live good lives.” No, He said these words to all of the disciples.

You must go. Evangelism is not an option. It is not a suggestion. How can the few Evangelists in the Church effectively reach everyone in the world? It is for every believer. You are called to do it. It is the primary reason why you have the Holy Ghost. See Acts 1:8. God has chosen you so you must go. You must tell them.

To keep quiet would be an act of rebellion. It means Jesus is not Lord of your life. Do not only send your money, follow Jesus. Go with Him.

May God baptise you with uncontainable zeal for the lost, in Jesus name, Amen. Good morning!

Native Doctor Gives His Life To Christ | NAS Devotinal | Day 2

Good morning, my name is Joy Taiwo, a sister from our Soul Winners group shared this yesterday:

“Last Sunday A native doctor gave his life to Christ through a tract my church evangelism team shared at Ojuelegba bus stop. He said he was going somewhere to perform ritual or something and as he alighted from a bus at Ojuelegba bus stop someone handed him a tract. Before then he said he was always being disturbed by an evil noise that never allowed him to rest. While that tract was in his hands, he noticed that the disturbing noise ceased. He dropped the tract on the ground and walked away and the moment he did that the noise started all over again. He then walked back and picked up the tract and the disturbing noise ceased again. He then join my church evangelism team members and gave his life to Christ. On Sunday he came to testify. The little( just by sharing tracts) we do in evangelism can yield much fruits.”

I hope this inspires you to reach someone with the Gospel today. Make up your mind that you will not give excuses this week. If you need tracts, contact me at +234 816 5273200. Heaven is counting on you. See Hebrews 12:1.

1 Thing You Must Pursue in Life | NAS Devotional Day 1

Good morming, my name is Joy Taiwo. Charles Spurgeon said this:

“Soul-winning is the chief
business of the Christian minister; it should be the main pursuit of every true believer.”

He is correct!

Soul winning is also the only thing Jesus asked us to do with our lives before He went to Heaven. Mark 16:15

It is the only thing He will ask us results/fruits for when He comes back. Matthew 20:8

Don’t spend your life doing all the things that don’t matter while ignoring the one thing that actually matters.

Tell someone about Jesus today, place a tract in someone’s hand. Heaven is recording it and you will be rewarded.

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
2 Chronicles 15:7 KJV

I pray that God will put in your heart a burning passion for souls, in Jesus name Amen. Thank you for reading.

Shall We Continue In Sin?

There are many professing Christians who have never come to God in genuine repentance and contrition for their sins. Growing up, they just found themselves in the church. They take sin very lightly. They do not understand that they are sinners in danger of Hell fire and desperately in need of the saviour, Jesus Christ. You and I owe them the true message of the Gospel. Watch this:

SOUL WINNING SATURDAY: We are empowering and mobilizing Christians and Churches to go out into the streets every Saturday in groups and clusters, to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and perishing. Join here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/IFjHJ7s8KqP1f3vWU0k7kP.

How To Convert Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Judaists | Lesson 18 | School Of Evangelism

To be able to convert one, we should first know what they believe. We should not strive to understand it, but to just know about it so that we are not taken unawares.

MUSLIMS

Muslims have six main beliefs.

  1. Belief in Allah as the one and only God
  2. Belief in angels
  3. Belief in the holy books
  4. Belief in the Prophets…e.g. Adam, Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Dawud (David), Isa (Jesus). And that Muhammad is the final prophet
  5. Belief in the Day of Judgement…The day when the life of every human being will be assessed to decide whether they go to heaven or hell.
  6. Belief in Predestination…That Allah has the knowlege of all that will happen. Muslims believe that this doesn’t stop human beings making free choices.

It is pretty easy to preach the gospel to a Muslim using number 5 above. Simply ask them if they think they will go to Heaven on Judgement day. If they say “Yes” or “I don’t know/Only Allah knows”, take them through the 10 Commandments Test to see how “good” they are and show them how they fall short and therefore need a saviour Jesus Christ. If they say “No” your job is easier because God has already started working in them to show them their sinfulness. Water the seed by pointing them to Jesus as the only way to obtain forgiveness for their sins or shortcomings.

HINDUS

Hindus have six core beliefs.

  1. Truth is eternal
  2. Brahman (their god) is truth and reality
  3. The Vedas (their sciptures) are the ultimate authority
  4. Everyone should strive to achieve dharma (righteousness?)
  5. Individual souls are immortal
  6. The goal of the individual soul is moksha (release from the cycle of death and rebirth?)

It would be best to minister the gospel from the angle of their 4th core belief (achieving righteousness). Ask them how well they are doing in that regard. Then ask to take them through the 10 Commandments Test. Show them where they have fallen short and introduce Jesus Christ as the only one who can forgive sins and empower a person to live righteously in this present world.

BUDDHISTS

Buddhists believe that human life is one of suffering and that meditation, spiritual and physical labour and good behaviour are the ways to achieve enlightenment or nirvana.

To minister to a Buddhist simply take them back to their own beliefs. Ask them how well they are doing in the area of “good behaviour’. Then take them through the 10 Commandments Test. Tell them of how God saw that we are helplessly sinful and how He came in the person of Jesus Christ to die and provide forgiveness and sanctification for humanity.

JUDAISTS

Judaists have three main beliefs.

  1. Monotheism: that there is one God – Yahweh. That He is a unity and cannot be divided into parts
  2. Identity: that all people are made in the image of God and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect
  3. Covenant: Jews believe that God made an agreement called a “covenant” with Abraham, the ancestor of the Jewish people. The Bible says that God promised to bless Abraham and his descendants if they worshipped God and were faithful to him.

Jews still wait for the Messiah to come. They believe that this will be a person. Other Jews believe in a future time when justice and peace will come through the cooperation of all people and the help of God.

To minister to a Jew, take them through the 10 Commandments Test and tell them about Jesus sacrifice for sinners. Trust God to reveal Himself to them in the person of Jesus Christ.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ARGUE (2 Timothy 2:24)!

DO YOU REMEMBER?

Do you remember what God has done for you?

How He has protected you through the years?

How He has provided for you?

Do you remember how He has preserved/kept you and your family?

Do you remember how He Saved you?

How He sent Jesus Christ His only son to die for you?

Do you realize that if Jesus did not sacrifice Himself for you, you would be damned?

That there would have been no Heaven for you?

That Hell would have been your destination forever?

Fire and worms that do not die?

Eternal separation from God? Only eternal hopelessness in gross darkness?

Do you remember how the Holy Spirit has been with you?

Raising you back up when you fall?

Showing you the way to go?

Do you remember?

If you do, then please serve God.

Serve God by winning souls.

It is what pleases Him the most.

Share with others the life that you have in Christ Jesus.

Try to touch God’s heart today

And tomorrow, wake up and try to touch it once again.

23 As for me, I will not stop praying for you. That would be a sin against the Lord. I will teach you how to live in the right way. 24 But you must respect and obey the Lord. You must serve him faithfully with all your strength. Remember the great things that he has done for you.

1 Samuel 12:23-24 EEB

If you are serving God with all of your strength then there will be nothing left for you, the world and the devil.
