The Poem of the Homeless Addict (Is. 59:9-15)

So there is no justice among us,
and we know nothing about right living.
We look for light but find only darkness.
We look for bright skies but walk in gloom.
We grope like the blind along a wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
Even at brightest noontime,
we stumble as though it were dark.
Among the living,
we are like the dead.
We growl like hungry bears;
we moan like mournful doves.
We look for justice, but it never comes.
We look for rescue, but it is far away from us.
For our sins are piled up before God
and testify against us.
Yes, we know what sinners we are.
We know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord.
We have turned our backs on our God.
We know how unfair and oppressive we have been,
carefully planning our deceitful lies.
Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
and honesty has been outlawed.
Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.

Joy Outreaches Activities for May 2022

Happy New Month! May the month of June be one of accomplishments in the diverse areas of your life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

In my last report, I stated that our goals for May were:

1. To mobilize Christians all around the world to go out on evangelism every Saturday. We call it Soul Winning Saturdays.
2. To do a weekly school lunch program and outreach in partnership with an educational consultant. The school is in a ghetto, is struggling and consists of mainly poor and homeless kids.

To the glory of God, we accomplished both goals. The first edition of Soul Winning Saturday held on May 21 and subsequently will be held every first Saturday of the month. We held a weekly program at a ghetto school in partnership with an educational consultant. We held Bible clubs there weekly which helped to build them both spiritually and in their reading skill. We provided snacks for them as we were allowed to by their teachers. You can see photos and video clips of all our activities here.

GOALS FOR JUNE

1. To start ‘Helping the Homeless’, a weekly session to engage and empower young women living on the streets or in slums/ghettos to become financially, physically and psychologically stable so that they leave the slums and build a better life for themselves and their generation.

This program will be kickstarted online and the first episode will be premiered at 5:30 pm on June 7, 2022.

Your kind support is what makes all this possible. Thank you.

Regards,

Joy Ebere Taiwo

Senior Outreach Worker of Joy Outreaches.

Day 34: Pakistan

Pakistan is a country in South Asia with a population of 227 million. Pakistan is a regional and middle power nation and has the world’s sixth-largest standing armed forces. 96.5% of people in Pakistan are Muslims while only 1.3% are Christians.

Prayer Points

  1. Pray for an insurgence of Christians into Pakistan who will spread the Gospel
  2. Pray that God will have mercy of the people of Pakistan and send laborers to them
  3. Pray that the land of Pakistan will not be forgotten in God’s agenda of harvest for the souls on earth.

Day 24: Angola

Angola is a country on the west coast of Southern Africa. Angola has vast mineral and petroleum reserves, and its economy is among the fastest-growing in the world, especially since the end of the civil war; however, economic growth is highly uneven, with most of the nation’s wealth concentrated in a disproportionately small sector of the population and highly concentrated in China and in the United States.

Why Pray?

  1. The standard of living remains low for most Angolans; life expectancy is among the lowest in the world, while infant mortality is among the highest.
  2. 56.4% of Angolians practise Roman Catholicism

Prayer Points

  1. Pray thay God will cause a revival Angola
  2. Pray that there will be a restoration of waste places in Angols
  3. Pray for a massive conversion to true Christianity this year 2022 in Angola

Message

After fasting and praying, this is what I perceive the Lord is saying to the people of these nations:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

Another Chance

The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
Psalms 103:8‭-‬10 NKJV

Greed

Greed is an intense desire for something especially wealth, power or food.

Consequences of being Greedy

  1. You will backslide and end up in Hell: When people like to have lots of money, that causes all kinds of bad things to happen. Some people have stopped believing the message about Christ because they just want to get more money. As a result, they have caused themselves to be very sad because they have many troubles/pierce themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10
  2. You will bring trouble upon your household. See Proverbs 15:27

How To Get rid of Greed in your Life?

  1. Guard your heart because your life is worth more than the things you have. See Luke 12:15
  2. Even if you become very rich, do not think it is important. See Psalm 62:10
  3. Practise being content with what you have. See Hebrews 13:5. Give God thanks for whatever you have. See yourself as being blessed because there are many who do not have it. Extend your hands to the poor and needy.

God bless you as you obey the Word of God.

♥️,
Joy.
