Day 8: India

India, a country in South Asia, is the second-most populous country in the world. It is a fast-growing major economy and a hub for information technology services, with an expanding middle class. It has a space programme which includes several planned or completed extraterrestrial missions.

Why Pray?
Hinduism is the largest religion in India. According to the 2011 Census of India, 966.3 Million people identify as Hindu, representing 79.8% of the country’s population. India contains 94% of the global Hindu population. The Indian subcontinent is the birthplace of four of the world’s major religions: namely Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism—collectively known as Indian religions that believe Moksha is the most supreme state of the Ātman (soul). The vast majority of Indian Hindus belong to Shaivite and Vaishnavite denominations. India is one of the three countries in the world (Nepal and Mauritius being the other two) where Hinduism is the dominant religion.

Prayer Points

  1. Pray that the Lord will deliver Indians for the bondage of Hinduism and idol worship
  2. Pray for a revival to spring forth from India. It is the most populous country so a revival from there will shake the whole world.
  3. Pray thay God will rapidly expand His army in India. That He will make them mighty men who will win India for Him.

Message

After fasting and praying, this is what I perceive the Lord is saying to the people of these nations:

Open your eyes, and turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then you will receive forgiveness for your sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in Christ. See Acts 26.
