Mali is the eighth-largest country in Africa with a population of 19.1 million. The country’s economy centres on agriculture and mining. One of Mali’s most prominent natural resources is gold, and the country is the third largest producer of gold on the African continent.

92.9% of people in Mali are Muslims. Only 2.8% are Christians and 2.5% have no religion.
