2 Timothy 4:5 says,
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Paul told Timothy to do the work of an evangelist. Every Christian is meant to do the work of an evangelist. We are to use every opportunity we have to influence people for Christ. In the home, workplace and community, we should be witnesses of Jesus death, resurrection and second coming.
This means that our actions or character must match our witness. If we say Jesus bled, died and resurrected to get rid of the issue of sin in our lives then shouldn’t we be free from sin? yes, we should.
Hebrews 12:14 ESV
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Let us, therefore, strive to manifest the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) at all times. Putting this into practise, we should:
- Love (not like) everyone
- By joyful
- Be peaceful
- Suffer long for the sake of Christ when trials come
- Be gentle
- Be good or kind to others
- Be faithful and full of faith
- Be meek or humble
- Be temperate or self controlled in our dealings (eating, dressing, etc)
May God help us to shine for Him in this dark world.
