Gifts of the Spirit Recap
Over the past 9 days we have looked at the gifts of the spirit as documented in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
These are the most important takeaways:
1. To be an effective servant of God, you need to work the power of God. Without it, you’ll just be like a motivational speaker or an unbeliever who does good works. 1 Corinthians 2:4
2. No gift of the spirit is reserved for a particular set of people. If you have the Holy Spirit in you and the right desire, you can manifest any gift, as G6id wills. 1 Corinthians 12:11; 14:1
3. The right foundation to manifest power is the Fruits of the spirit. Without the right character (love), your service will not stand the test of God’s 🔥 fire at the end. 1 Corinthians 3:13
4. Although the gifts of the Spirit are indeed 🎁 “gifts”, it takes intimacy with God to manifest them. It is because God is a spirit and you are flesh so there is that obvious barrier. You must become more spirit than flesh if you are serious about walking in power and living an extraordinary life for God. John 4:24; 1 Corinthians 9:27
5. If you despise the power of God at work in the lives of others, it limits your ability to walk in it. Celebrate God’s gift in others and earnestly focus on developing your spirit in the place of prayer, fasting and study of the Word, so that God can use you too.
