This evening we want to consider a topic called Faith.
Faith? 🙄 Yes Faith 🤗. I’m sure we all know what Heb 11:1 says 😀. “Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
But it is beyond knowing the verse or memorizing it without understanding and activating it in our lives.
A lot of christians can quote this verse with its reference but at the time of acting out the verse we are found wanting. May we not be found out wanting in Jesus name. Amen

“Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for I.e it is the assurance of something you desire, or the surety of what you long for or in expectation of, without having anything in reality to back up such assurance. It is the assurance you have in your heart while you’re still making a request to your Father.

Imagine making a request to your earthly father and you include(I know you won’t give me but let me sha ask). That attitude is quite humiliating and if your father looks at such attitude of saying he is not capable of taking care of you or providing for your needs, it is enough for him to refuse giving you what you have asked even when he has more than enough. Note one thing there the attitude with which you ask.

If this is an insult to your earthly father how much more your Heavenly Father who owns the universe. Faith is the spiritual currency used to buy or purchase whatever you need in the kingdom of Heaven. It is the tool in which you use to get or purchase whatever you desire from God.

In the policy of the Kingdom, without faith you can not buy neither can you have because faith is the only currency spent in heaven to make you rich on earth as you journey to Heaven. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

https://www.bible.com/bible/1/heb.11.6.kjv. Without faith, your spiritual life might not make sense to you. It will look disjointed and uninteresting.
It is this invisible tool you need in relating to an invisible God. Take for example a sinner who wants to start a journey with God, he must first believe that God exists and that He has the power to forgive him from all his sins and unrighteousness.

If you walk with God and misplace this fruit of the spirit called faith, you’ll be confused and frustrated and you’ll want to end whatever you call a relationship with God because what you need to relate with an unseen God is missing. May our lives not be void of this important instrument that draws us to God.

Faith is that ingredient that eases and sweetens your relationship with God.
Scriptures makes us to understand that by Faith Abraham walked with God, By Faith Jacob, By Faith Isaac,By Faith Abel, By Faith Moses. These people didn’t see God physically but related with Him by trusting and believing Him.
Will you also walk with God by Faith and discard doubt and unbelief?
Receive Grace to do so. Now Faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God.

How can you build your faith?
~ Reading God’s word
~ Obeying God’s word and voice
~ Listening to sermons in church
~ Reading Christian literatures on Faith.

Getting Practical
1. Tell God to forgive you of every unbelief and doubt in your heart and tell Him to cast them off by His blood.
2. Ask God to increase your faith.
3. Tell Him to grant you the grace to walk with Him by Faith and tell Him to draw you closer to Him.

After doing this, you’ll see that you’ll begin to enjoy that quiet time that seems boring and monotonous 😀.
