40 Days To Purpose | Day 6

Why did it take God 25 years to give Sarah a son? Was it that difficult for God to form Isaac? Why would He keep promising poor Sarah a child when she was obviously getting older and her womb getting dryer? Was God just trying to taunt her and hurt her feelings?

As these thoughts crossed my mind while studying about Sarah, something jumped out at me. God did not have to do anything more to create Isaac. All he had to do was make the promise.

You see, when God wanted to make the earth, all he had to do was speak. When God promised Abraham a child, he had played his part, that was all he had to do – to speak.

How do I know?

By faith, barren Sarah was able to become pregnant, old woman as she was at the time, because she believed the One who made a promise would do what he said. That’s how it happened that from one man’s dead and shriveled loins there are now people numbering into the millions.” Hebrews 11:11-12 MSG

Can you see why she became pregnant? It was because she finally believed what God promised. For 25 years, I guess she thought a power was suddenly going to come upon her and out of the blues she will find out that she was pregnant.

Although the scriptures never said how exactly she put her faith into action but I am sure she must have done something (received strength to conceive – KJV) in the other room with Abraham. Thus she birthed Gods purpose on earth.

Are you finding it difficult to believe and accept your perceived calling in life? I want to remind you that with God all things are possible.

The same God that turned miserable Moses into mighty Moses is still alive and changing men today. If you will just take that first step of faith to seek God, he will take over.

ACTIVATION | GETTING PRACTICAL WITH IT

1. Do whatever it takes to keep your personal appointment with God tomorrow. Set your alarm. Don’t miss it for anything

2. Ask God to work through your weakness. Let him be your strength.

3. Start by preaching the gospel. That’s every Christian’s compulsory assignment. As you show faithfulness, God will commit more into your hands
