Good morning,

Let me start by asking you a question. Why did Jesus really die? The most common answer to this question is, “He died because he loves me too much to allow me perish in hell”. This answer is very correct. The bible says, for God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. There is however a missing link somewhere. This missing link is what gives weight to Jesus’s suffering and death. It is what will make you to deeply appreciate your salvation. To tackle this issue, we shall go back in history to the conception of Jesus in the womb of Mary.

Matthew 1:21 says, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” This verse is showing us a very important secret. The reason he shall be called Jesus (meaning Savior) is because he is going to save us from SIN.

You see, your salvation is first a salvation from sin before it is a salvation from hell. Why? Hell is only meant for sinners. Meaning that if you were not a sinner, you would not be destined to hell and therefore Jesus would not have needed to come and die. Are you seeing what I am saying now? Jesus came to take away your sin so that you would not have to be punished forever in hell.

1 John 3: 8 says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” This verse says Jesus was manifested (meaning he came down to earth) so that he might destroy the works of the devil, which is sin.

If you are still living in sin, how can you claim you have been saved? Saved from what exactly? Or is it a different Jesus that saved you? What exactly have you been born again as? What exactly is your Christian testimony?

I hope by now, you are beginning to see what an irony it is for someone who claims to be born again to still be living in sin. It is like seeing someone fighting in the market square, but he is wearing a T-shirt with the words, “SAY NO TO VIOLENCE”, boldly inscribed on it. Everyone that passes by will sigh and shake their heads. They will call such a person a hypocrite.

I want you to understand the gravity of sin in Gods eyes. God takes sin so seriously that he ‘killed’ his only son to get rid of it.

God wants you free from sin because sin is what give the devil access into your life. He hinders your prayers, steals your blessings, brings confusion into your life, allows curses spells to manifest in your life because your sin gave him an open door. God wants you to be free to love and serve him. Choose freedom today.
